About us

What is Hardcore Fitness?

Hardcore fitness is more than just a gym.

We are a supportive and motivating community that welcomes all new members with open arms. Whether you are an athlete looking to step up your game or someone who has never stepped foot in the gym, you’ll feel at home and be pushed to your personal best in each class. The energy of the classes paired with the top-of- the-line sound system and motivation and experience of the trainer on the mic make for a workout experience like no other. We’ve got your back with a solution for your weight training, cardio, core, nutrition, motivation and even accountability!

The Community

We hear all the time that people heard about how amazing Hardcore Fitness was and had seen the amazing results, but were too intimidated or afraid to take the leap and give it a try. After their first time in the gym, that went out the window and they wished they’d come in sooner!

From the time you walk into the gym and talk to staff and members to your first class with the trainers and the people working out around you, you quickly see that this is a true fit weight loss challenge family and we are all about encouragement. The people you’d normally be intimidated by because they were in great shape are the first ones to offer help and give you encouragement or motivation through the workouts. It becomes so contagious that before you know it that person encouraging others will be you!

This is what makes HCF so great!

The Founders

Hardcore Fitness was founded in 2007 by Larry and Nadia Nolan. The program started as an outdoor boot camp led by Larry, and his only two clients were his girlfriend, Nadia, and his mother, Vicky. Larry had been a trainer since he was 16 years old, being certified by pretty much every institution and working at every corporate gym. After years of seeing gyms’ sole focus being profits, with no concern for clients’ wellbeing or results, he decided to go off on his own and build the gym that he saw in his mind’s eye. The new gym focused on every aspect of the clients’ experience, from the atmosphere and culture, to accountability and results.
Nadia started off as Larry’s client, but her passion for training and the Hardcore Fitness clients quickly grew and drove her to quit her finance job and devote herself fulltime to HCF.
With the two of them working side by side and focusing entirely on the clients first and foremost, they had great results and happy clients to show for it. Neither Larry nor Nadia were very business savvy, so there was never a surge of clients or major expansion; rather, the program grew one client at a time as people would see their friend, neighbor, or family member’s amazing results and hear them raving about their great experience at HCF, and come to check it out themselves. After years of being in the park, the program finally grew to a small 1,800 sq ft indoor facility, which it quickly outgrew into its current 11,000 sq ft facility. Since 2007, Hardcore Fitness has been voted best gym, best boot camp, best personal trainers, even one of the top gyms in the US, and expanded to locations from Santa Clarita, California to Orlando, Florida. Despite this growth, the gyms’ main focus remains the clients. Each gym that has opened has been in partnership with one of our trainers, clients, or staff members that has fallen in love with the Hardcore way and promised to bring the same love and attention to the new location that Larry and Nadia brought to the original. With this approach, you can always be assured to walk into any Hardcore Fitness and feel welcome, get a great workout, and have the support you’re looking for in all ways! Along the way, Larry and Nadia also competed in fitness, turned professional, competed for a world title, started a supplement line, got married, and have two chogs (dog children), but at the end of the day you’ll still see them daily at the original Santa Clarita location doing what they love with a lot of the same clients who began this journey with them back at the park.

I wish I could attribute my weight at the time to the fact that I was a mother of two, but considering my kids were 9 and 13 years old at the time, that would be a bit of a stretch. No, this was the result of many years of yo-yo dieting, rapid weight loss diet pills and latest diet trends, and oh, yes... the infamous food deprivation (essentially starvation). All of which would produce short term progress and weight variances of 30 lbs +/- at any given time, but these results were temporal and HARDLY lifestyles that could be maintained without serious health effects. I found myself in a vicious cycle that only led to the weight I had lost coming back with a vengeance each and every time. Continual bouts of depression and lack of confidence plagued me and I wanted so badly to reverse the addictive abuse I had inflicted on my OWN body in efforts to find a way to get a quick result in reversing a lifetime of poor lifestyle, nutrition, and exercise habits (Or lack of...). So, here's the BIG "Eureka" moment I had!!! Change starts with ME! The familiar saying that, "The only way to live a healthy life was to live a healthy lifestyle." was a truism I had dodged my entire life! Something had to change and no one was going to change it for me. Quite frankly, I got sick and tired of being "Sick and Tired"... (And overweight) Everyone has a million and one excuses that keep them from making positive changes to their life. "CHANGE STARTS WITH YOU!!!" Decide to change... Then actually DO IT!!! Make this the year to make that happen!

My name is Diego! Fitness was always a part of my life growing up in the form of sports but it didn’t become my career until about 3 years ago... I went through a bootcamp transformation and fell in love with the process and how the trainers were able to help not only me but everyone else feel good and take back control of themselves. I pursued my certifications in Corrective exercise, group fitness training, and personal training through NASM.

My hobbies include playing sports and running spartan races there is no other feeling than finishing a race and looking back at the challenge you just faced, I plan to run them competitively in the near future. I’ve helped many people complete their first race and I plan on helping a lot more! I also have two beautiful little girls and a woman who are my world!

I wanted to join Hardcore Fitness Agoura because I feel like using this bigger platform I’m not only able to change lives by helping people lose weight but I can help them achieve their ideal body.

My favorite body part to train would be arms because... why not?! Upper body and grip strength are a huge factor in my races and I love to be prepared! My favorite thing to do outside of Hardcore would be to run spartan races... I have done 14 so far in the year and plan on completing at least 24 for my 8x trifecta.... if I could eat one food for the rest of my life it would be a great steak! Love the different ways it can be cooked and it’s packed with nutrients.

The best part of being a trainer at Hardcore Fitness is being able to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in n out of my classes! The environment is going to be absolutely amazing and every person is going to love being part of the family!

I have always been interested in fitness and health. I played soccer since I was 5 years old up until high school. Then, I started running cross country and track. I loved how much of a mental toughness you needed in order to train and run.
I graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Criminal Justice and decided to go through the LAPD hiring process. After much thought, I decided that it was not for me, but I loved the training aspect and the fact that I had pushed myself further than ever before. I wanted to put my personal love for fitness to good use and help others. That’s when I decided to get NASM certified.
I was part of the Hardcore family for a year and after working out there for a few months, I knew I wanted to be a trainer there one day. The community and family that Hardcore provides is amazing each and every day!
Helping every client become more confident and comfortable with their body, pushing people to do things that they didn’t think they could ever do, and seeing how proud they are of themselves after accomplishing it is the most rewarding feeling as a trainer.
My favorite body part to train is back because there is just something that I love about pulling heavy weight! I love when my lats are sore and being able to do pull ups is awesome!
Outside of Hardcore Fitness, Jess is exploring new vegan restaurants around LA! She’s been vegan for 3 years and is so thankful there are so many delicious places to try!
Jess brings all her experience and knowledge with her to every session #fitfam!

I wanted to be a part of Hardcore Fitness Agoura because I love how the gym utilizes equipment into the circuits, its rare to see other gyms do that. I also love the high energy the trainers give and how receptive the clients are, its very family like!
My favorite body part to train is my shoulders, hands down! Whats really cool about the shoulders is that it is made up of different muscles that do several muscle actions. This allows me to get even more creative when training my clients. Plus, who doesn’t love a sexy shoulder!
My favorite thing to do outside of Hardcore is writing. I absolutely love writing! I perform at poetry slams once in a while and love hearing other people share their life experiences through poetry. I also played college volleyball and club soccer my whole life, so getting together with friends and playing both of those sports are another fun thing I love doing on my downtime.
If I could only eat one food the rest of my life, it would be chocolate chip cookies or burritos! Both very random but I can’t help myself when those things are on the menu!
The best part of being a trainer at Hardcore Fitness Agoura, I would have to say, is the community the clients and the staff create! It’s a very loving environment which allows everyone to feel at ease and welcome.
